SITC 2022 | Improving outcomes in ICI-associated acute kidney injury

Shruti Gupta, MD, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, describes strategies to optimize management of kidney damage in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors. Since kidney biopsies are currently the only method of detecting kidney damage, novel biomarkers are needed to diagnose kidney injury in a non-invasive manner. Further research is additionally required to elucidate the optimal duration and dose of steroids as well as alternatives to steroids. This interview took place at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy in Cancer (SITC 2022) in Boston, MA.
