ASCO 2024 | Assessing the link between the gut microbiome and response rates in mesothelioma
Dean Fennell, FRCP, PhD, University of Leicester, Leicester, UK, explores the potential relationship between the gut microbiome and outcomes in patients with mesothelioma. Preliminary research has shown that the microbiome is sensitive and modifiable to treatments that patients receive. Since a large number of patients progress on ipilimumab and nivolumab, changing the dietary fiber of patients may enhance outcomes. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
