AACR 2025 | The emerging role of targeted therapies in relapsed mesothelioma

Dean Fennell, University of Leicester, Leicester, UK, comments on the findings of studies on rucaparib in relapsed mesothelioma, noting that the results are promising. Tumor-intrinsic signal, mediated by interferon α signaling, which is not coming from immune cells outside the cancer itself is attributed to its success. These observations may also apply to other PARP inhibitors, including five others that have been studied. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
