Alexander Spira, MD, Next Oncology-Virginia VCS, Fairfax, VA, provides an overview of the ongoing Phase III FURVENT trial (NCT05607550) of firmonertinib, a brain-penetrant EGFR exon 20 inhibitor, in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR exon 20 insertions. The trial aims to further evaluate its efficacy and safety compared to platinum-based chemotherapy, and builds on existing data such as Phase III PAPILLON trial (NCT04538664) of amivantamab plus chemotherapy. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, CA.
