Hector Peinado, PhD, Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid, Spain, discusses future research directions for extracellular vesicles and circulating free DNA. Liquid biopsy will be a useful tool for future research in this field and Dr Peinado hopes to widen the spectrum of mutations that liquid biopsy can be used to analyse. This interview took place at the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB) 2021 Virtual Meeting.
