ISLB 2021 | Diagnosis and treatment of metastatic disease by imaging extracellular vesicles

Hector Peinado, PhD, Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid, Spain, discusses imaging techniques used to identify the location of extracellular vesicles (EVs) across organs and explains how these techniques can be useful when diagnosing and treating metastatic disease. Dr Peinado also discusses how tumor-derived EVs can affect the behaviour of local and distal organ cells and alter the microenvironment. This interview took place at the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB) 2021 Virtual Meeting.
