Vitaly Margulis, MD, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, discusses interim results from the Phase III ENLIGHTED trial (NCT04620239) of padeliporfin vascular targeted photodynamic therapy (VTP) in patients with low-grade upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC). The therapy, delivered endoscopically with intravenous padeliporfin and localized laser activation, showed promising response rates and low recurrence. Treatment was generally well tolerated, with mostly mild adverse events. These findings suggest padeliporfin VTP may offer an effective, organ-sparing alternative in the management of low-grade UTUC. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
