AACR 2024 | Remaining challenges in treating solid tumors with CAR-Treg therapy

Leonardo Ferreira, PhD, The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Charleston, SC, comments on barriers to clinical use of chimeric antigen receptor regulatory T (CAR-Treg) cells for solid tumors. Since Treg cells are a small subset of T-cells, procuring a suitable number of Treg cells will be a challenge, and finding a suitable target that will minimize the rate of off-target toxicities is additionally essential. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, CA.
