APCCC 2024 | How can we reduce disparities in prostate cancer in sub-Saharan Africa?

Onyeanunam Ekeke, MBBS, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, gives an overview of strategies to improve survival rates in African patients with prostate cancer. Screening is an important factor, where increased awareness and education is needed, especially when it comes to rectal exams and early diagnosis. Despite concerns regarding over-screening, screening will benefit high-risk and older patients. This interview took place at the 2024 Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) in Lugano, Switzerland.
