Onyeanunam Ekeke, MBBS, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, discusses the importance of collaboration and multidisciplinary approaches in cancer care in Nigeria. Regionalization of immunohistochemistry facilities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones is highlighted as a key strategy. Dr Ekeke advocates for collaboration in Africa to utilize limited resources effectively, including telepathology and regional cancer registries. Emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach, he underscores the need for urologists, radiologists, pathologists, and oncologists to work together to develop effective cancer treatment pathways tailored to Africa. This interview took place at the 2024 Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) in Lugano, Switzerland.
