Gary Rodin, MD, FRCPC, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada, outlines his presentation on the current challenges and potential solutions for the humanitarian aspect of cancer, particularly lung cancer. Despite significant improvements in survival rates and increased awareness in biomedical research, the psychological, cultural and social aspects of cancer have not shown a similar advancement. Dr Rodin shares the launch of an oncology commission to investigate inequalities in oncology; the aim of this analysis is to rectify the disparity and improve the quality of life of patients with cancer. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
