Kevin Kalinsky, MD, MS, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, discusses the final overall survival analysis from the Phase III postMONARCH trial (NCT05169567), which evaluated abemaciclib plus fulvestrant versus placebo plus fulvestrant in HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer following progression on a prior CDK4/6 inhibitor plus endocrine therapy. Overall survival was numerically longer with abemaciclib, although statistical significance was not reached, with progression-free survival remaining consistent and no new safety signals. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
