Sapna Patel, MD, Colorado Cancer Center, Aurora, CO, discusses the latest developments in melanoma and skin cancers, highlighting promising interim data from the INTerpath-001 trial (NCT05933577) and the results of the STARBOARD study (NCT04657991). The former trial assessed intismeran autogene with pembrolizumab and the latter demonstrated a higher objective response rate and progression-free survival with the triplet therapy of encorafenib, binimetinib, and pembrolizumab compared to single-agent pembrolizumab. The findings may lead to the possibility of a new standard of care in the frontline setting, but there is a need for further studies to determine whether new doublet therapies may supplant existing doublets. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
