Matti Aapro, MD, from the Clinique de Genolier, Genolier, Switzerland, discusses the importance of palliative and supportive care at the European Cancer Congress of the European Cancer Organisation (ECCO) 2017 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The primary aim of oncologists is to fight cancer, however, improving quality of life is very important, especially in palliative care. There is evidence to suggest that supportive care may improve cancer outcomes. Dr Aapro states that there will be many discussions about supportive care at this conference.
