Guillermo de Velasco, MD, PhD, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain, discusses results from the Phase II SOGUG-AUREA trial (NCT04602078) which investigated split-dose cisplatin for patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma (la/mUC). This study combined cisplatin, gemcitabine, and atezolizumab, achieving high response rates and promising long-term outcomes. While non-randomized, these findings highlight a potential strategy for expanding cisplatin-based treatment options. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
