ASCO 2024 | Enhancing trial prescreening accuracy and timeliness with human-AI teams

Ravi Bharat Parikh, MD, MPP, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, discusses findings from an interim analysis of a noninferiority trial utilizing natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to enhance trial prescreening accuracy and timeliness. Combining human involvement with artificial intelligence (AI) achieved noninferior overall accuracy in terms of trial prescreening. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
