ESMO 2025 | Refining treatment strategies in EGFR-mutant NSCLC
Martin Schuler, MD, University Hospital Essen, Essen, Germany, discusses optimizing therapy selection for patients with EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). He reviews data from the Phase III MARIPOSA (NCT04487080) and FLAURA2 (NCT04035486) studies, showing that treatment intensification with amivantamab plus lazertinib or osimertinib plus chemotherapy improves survival compared to monotherapy. Prof. Schuler emphasizes tailoring therapy to patient comorbidities, tolerance, and preferences, balancing efficacy and toxicity to achieve optimal outcomes.
