Yelena Janjigian, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, comments on the Phase III MATTERHORN study (NCT04592913), which supports the use of immunotherapy in early-stage resectable gastric/gastroesophageal junction cancer (GC/GEJC). Dr Janjigian highlights the benefits of introducing immunotherapy in early-stage GC/GEJC, noting that it has demonstrated improved survival and is well-tolerated. The regimen, which combines FLOT chemotherapy with durvalumab, has shown improved survival outcomes in global trials, making it a valuable option for patients.
