Simpa Salami, MD, MPH, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, suggests further data is required prior to implementing circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Whilst ctDNA could theoretically inform on early detection, disease relapse and monitoring treatment processes, and has been detected in patients before and after surgery in some studies, implementation to precision medicine requires further trials. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
