Annalice Gandini, MD, Université Paris Cité, Paris, France, touches on findings from the AGEO-NEO-MSI study, a real-world international cohort evaluating neoadjuvant immune checkpoint inhibitors in mismatch repair-deficient/microsatellite instability-high colorectal cancer. High complete response rates and favorable survival outcomes were observed, with clinical complete response strongly predictive of pathological response. Treatment strategy influenced outcomes, as a short doublet immunotherapy approach showed higher response rates than prolonged single-agent therapy, while immune-related adverse events were more common with doublet regimens and appeared linked to response with single-agent treatment. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
