ESMO 2024 | iDFS by prior systemic treatment in NATALEE

Nicholas McAndrew, MD, MSCE, UCLA Health, Santa Monica, CA, discusses the results of the NATALEE trial (NCT03701334), which met its primary endpoint by demonstrating a significant invasive disease-free survival (iDFS) benefit with ribociclib (RIB) plus nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor (NSAI) versus NSAI alone in patients with HR+/HER2− early breast cancer. The benefit was sustained with longer follow-up. The analysis considered prior chemotherapy and endocrine therapy, showing that the iDFS advantage with RIB + NSAI was consistent across different prior treatments. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
