Dirk Arnold, MD, PhD, Asklepios Tumorzentrum Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, describes the trial design and rationale for the DEL-LIVER trial (NCT06607458) evaluating percutaneous hepatic perfusion (PHP) with melphalan in patients with measurable liver-dominant refractory metastatic colorectal cancer and limited extrahepatic disease. The use of PHP allows delivery of a high dose of melphalan directly into the liver via the blood vessels. The trial will compare standard intravenous systemic therapy alone versus systemic therapy with PHP. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
