Hildur Helgadottir, MD, PhD, Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden, discusses the findings from a nationwide registry-based study on patients with stage III cutaneous malignant melanoma treated with adjuvant therapy. While the overall survival (OS) curves remain unchanged with longer follow-up, she emphasizes the need for more data, particularly from the upcoming EORTC 1325-MG/KEYNOTE-054 trial (NCT02388906). A careful discussion is needed with patients regarding the potential to monitor closely and reserve adjuvant treatments, which have toxicities, for those who might truly need it. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
