ASCO 2018 | The importance of encouraging patients to talk about symptoms

Speaking about symptoms can often be a difficult experience for patients, as it can confirm their fears of the disease. However, the sooner symptoms are presented, the sooner treatment can be administered. For this reason, Jalid Sehouli, MD, of the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center, Berlin, Germany, gives an interview regarding the benefits of supportive care along with medical treatment. Dr Sehouli believes both men and women should be educated with regards to recognizing the symptoms of ovarian cancer and concludes his interview by mentioning the results of a study he presented the previous year, which investigated similar ideas.
