AACR 2025 | Increasing AYA clinical trial participation in oncology

Michael Roth, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the increase in participation of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) in cancer clinical trials, noting that the past decade has seen a significant expansion of available trials for this population. Collaborative efforts between adult and pediatric oncology networks have facilitated by the reorganization of clinical trial operations, which has led to more trials being developed and available across both settings. This, in turn, has enabled quicker study openings and closures, and the faster development of novel agents for younger populations. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
