BCC 2021 | Role of SPECT/CT in detecting marked lymph nodes and sentinel nodes following neoadjuvant chemo

Ece Dilege, MD, Koc University College, Istanbul, Turkey, discusses the use of SPECT/CT lymphoscintigraphy in the detection of the marked metastatic lymph node and the sentinel node after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer. SPECT/CT lymphoscintigraphy mapping accurately eases localization of the marked node and sentinel node following neoadjuvant chemotherapy and may be used as a guide to identifying patients in whom the clipped node is not the sentinel node and require further localization before surgery. This interview took place during the 17th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference.
