Marco Germani, MD, FRCP, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, emphasizes that findings from post-hoc analyses cannot currently influence clinical guidelines for colorectal cancer management. There is a pressing need for improved predictive models for early disease progression and while some patients respond well to first-line treatments, not all require immediate reassessment. Due to the lower grade of evidence from these analyses, substantial changes to current practices are unlikely at this time. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
