ESMO 2026 | Durable survival benefit with neoadjuvant cemiplimab in stage II-IV CSCC

Neil Gross, MD, FACS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the long-term data from a non-randomized Phase II trial (NCT04154943) investigating the use of neoadjuvant cemiplimab in patients with advanced resectable cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), highlighting that the responses are durable and translate to long-term benefits in terms of survival. Dr Gross notes that the initial high pathologic response rate has been sustained, with favorable survival signals persisting over time. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
