EAU 2026 | GSTT Bladder Cancer Senior Robotic Fellowship

Francesco Del Giudice, MD, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, and Muhammad Shamim Khan, MBBS, MCPS, FRCS, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, comments on the value of fellowship training programs in urology, specifically the bladder cancer fellowship program at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital London (GSTT), which Dr Khan, Professor of Urology at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital London and King’s College London, has been involved in since its establishment in 2015. Dr Khan highlights that the program, which is recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Association of Urological Surgeons, provides comprehensive training in robotic and open surgery, and that the modular training approach reflects the current ERUS guidelines on cystectomy, allowing fellows to gain independence in performing complex operations such as radical cystectomy with diversion. This interview took place at the 41st Annual EAU Congress in London, UK.
