Matti Aapro, MD, of the Genolier Clinic, Genolier, Switzerland, discusses ways to avoid unnecessary treatment and limit active treatment in advanced stages of cancer. Speaking from the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2018 Congress, in Munich, Germany, Dr Aapro highlights the importance of using good tools in evaluating survival during the advanced stages of the disease, allowing better judgements to be made by physicians on active treatment strategies.
