ASCO 2023 | The utility of needs assessments in oncology care

Michael Jefford, MBBS, PhD, FRACP, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia, highlights the benefits of providing needs assessments for patients who have been treated for cancer. Whilst patients may feel reassured if they have a low chance of recurrence, there is great uncertainty regarding post-treatment care. Patients will often have other needs, and clinicians must be able to act on the concerns of patients.
