Radka Obermannova, MD, PhD, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, comments on findings from a real-world study (ACTRN12622000180718) assessing whether pathological response to neoadjuvant FLOT can guide its adjuvant use in locally-advanced gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. Only partial responders to neoadjuvant FLOT showed significant benefit from adjuvant FLOT in terms of disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Minimal and complete responders did not have a significant survival advantage from adjuvant therapy. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
