Young-Joon Kang, MD, The Catholic University of Korea, Incheon, South Korea, describes results from the randomized AIUR (NCT05771974) trial evaluating compression therapy with normal-sized surgical gloves for the prevention of paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with stage II–III breast cancer. Although the patient-reported primary endpoint was not met, exploratory analyses revealed benefit confined to the gloved hands, with no effect in the ungloved feet, alongside reduced clinician-rated sensory neuropathy. The gloves were well tolerated and highly acceptable to patients, supporting further evaluation in trials assessing each region separately. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
