ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers | Importance of personalised medicine in NETs

Rocio Garcia-Carbonero, MD, PhD, University Hospital 12 De Octubre, Madrid, Spain, discusses the importance of precision and personalised medicine in the treatment of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Several papers have identified some of the most common mutations leading to pancreatic NETs, including in DNA repair, telomere modelling, and mTOR pathways. Dr Garcia-Carbonero highlights the need for research investigating how each subgroup responds to different treatments. This interview took place at the ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers Congress 2023 in Lugano, Switzerland.
