WCLC 2023 | CALM: an intervention for patients to manage cancer and live meaningfully

Gary Rodin, MD, FRCPC, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada, discusses the use of CALM (a brief psychotherapy service for patients with advanced cancers) as an intervention for patients with advanced lung cancer. The service aims to improve patients’ future planning, relationship to self, shift in priority, and relationship to healthcare. Dr Rodin reports that CALM has been implemented in several countries and lung cancer is a primary target of the intervention and the service could be valuable as a part of routine cancer care. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
