WCLC 2023 | Stereotactic radiotherapy for lung cancer
Joe Chang, MD, PhD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, TX, comments on the usage of stereotactic radiotherapy in lung cancer treatment. Conventional fractionation radiotherapy has been historically used to treat lung cancer because of its efficacy and avoidance of critical tissues. Stereotactic radiotherapy can use modern technology such as CT guidance to deliver high doses in a short period of time. Prof. Chang discusses the limitations of stereotactic radiotherapy, including the lack of accessibility to the technology and the risk of damage to critical tissues. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
