Mariana Brandao, MD, PhD, from the Institute Jules Bordet in Brussels, Belgium, discusses the challenges in timely assessment and access to care for patients with stage III lung cancer. She highlights the low percentage of patients receiving PET-CT scans within the required timeframe and the disparities in access to brain MRI and pathological nodal staging. Dr Brandao emphasizes the importance of functional operability assessments, including exercise testing and rehabilitation, in improving surgical outcomes.
