ESMO Breast 2024 | Tailoring radiation therapy for breast cancer based on recurrence risk

Orit Kaidar-Person, MD, Sheba Medical Center, Ramat Gan, Israel, discusses how radiation therapy for breast cancer can be tailored based on recurrence risk. Meta-analyses, including recent updates published in the Lancet, show the significance of radiation to regional nodes for reducing recurrence and breast cancer mortality. Current studies aim to stratify patients to identify those who will benefit most, particularly those with positive lymph nodes. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
