Natalie Vokes, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, explores a study analyzing KRAS-altered (KRASa) and KRAS-wildtype (KRASwt) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Patients with PD-L1 lung cancer treated with PD-L1 inhibitors have better outcomes regardless of KRAS status. Key biomarkers, such as TP53, KEAP1, and STK11, and their role in ICI response, are also highlighted, offering insights into personalized treatment strategies for patients with KRASa and KRASwt NSCLC. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
