ESMO 2024 | FRESCO-2: subgroup analysis of fruquintinib in mCRC with liver metastases

Rocio Garcia-Carbonero, MD, PhD, University Hospital 12 De Octubre, Madrid, Spain, discusses a subgroup analysis of the FRESCO-2 trial (NCT04322539) of fruquintinib, a VEGFR inhibitor, in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), focusing on liver metastases. Fruquintinib significantly improved overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) compared to placebo. Disease control rates were higher with fruquintinib, and adverse events, including hepatic function abnormalities, were comparable between groups as well. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
