Hildur Helgadottir, MD, PhD, Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden, gives an overview of current approaches and emerging treatments for melanoma. For patients in the metastatic setting, neoadjuvant therapy, particularly PD-1 monotherapy or combination therapies, remains the standard of care. However, there is anticipation surrounding results from trials using RNA vaccines, which represent one of the most promising potential treatment advancements in the management of melanoma.
