ESMO 2024 | NIBIT-ML1: ipilimumab and nivolumab with ASTX727 in PD-1 resistant melanoma

Anna Maria Di Giacomo, MD, University Hospital of Siena, Siena, Italy, discusses the NIBIT-ML1 trial (NCT04250246), of ipilimumab and nivolumab with or without ASTX727, a hypomethylating agent (HMA), in patients with PD-1 resistant metastatic melanoma. Initial results show promising clinical activity, especially in patients receiving ASTX727. Both arms met safety requirements, with manageable toxicities and no overlapping adverse effects, confirming the feasibility of the treatment approach. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
