Puneet Singh, MD, MS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses findings from the COMET trial (NCT02926911), a randomized study comparing active monitoring (AM) to guideline concordant care (GCC) in patients with low-risk ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). The results aim to assess the safety of AM as an alternative to surgery and inform future management strategies for patients with low-risk DCIS.
