Goutam Chakraborty, PhD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, comments on the challenges of diagnosing low-PSA, high-risk prostate cancer, noting that the lack of expression of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) makes it difficult to detect through biopsy alone. Dr Chakraborty emphasizes the need for a better biomarker to identify this subtype of prostate cancer, which often presents with advanced symptoms such as bone pain, and highlights the importance of preclinical studies to better understand this aggressive form of the disease. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
