Jonas Subelack, University of St.Gallen, St Gallen, Switzerland, gives an overview of risk factors for interval breast cancer (IBC) based on a decade of mammography screening data. Findings indicate that women with IBC had lower survival proportions than those with screen-detected breast cancer, likely due to more advanced disease at diagnosis. Higher breast density, certain age groups, and a family history of breast cancer were associated with increased IBC risk. This interview took place at the 2025 St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
