ESMO 2025 | EMBARK: metastasis-free survival by prior treatment in hrBCR prostate cancer

Neal Shore, MD, FACS, Carolina Urologic Research Center, Myrtle Beach, SC, discusses a post hoc analysis of the Phase III EMBARK trial (NCT02319837), evaluating metastasis-free survival by prior definitive therapy in patients with high-risk biochemically recurrent (hrBCR) prostate cancer. Across subgroups receiving radical prostatectomy, radiotherapy, or both, enzalutamide plus leuprolide consistently improved metastasis-free survival versus leuprolide alone. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2025 Congress in Berlin, Germany.
