EAU 2026 | 10-year outcomes of a robotic cystectomy fellowship: safe training without compromising patient care

Francesco Del Giudice, MD, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, and Ramesh Thurairagja, BM, MRCSEd, MD, FEBU, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, present a 10-year retrospective review of perioperative outcomes from the robotic bladder cancer fellowship at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital. The data show that a structured, mentored training program can deliver safe oncological and perioperative outcomes in line with international benchmarks. Notably, around 60% of fellows completed an autonomous skin-to-skin cystectomy with intracorporeal urinary diversion by month four, with 98% achieving full independence by program end. This interview took place at the 41st Annual EAU Congress in London, UK.
