ASCO 2026 | Could induction BRAF/MEK inhibition be useful for some melanoma patients with metastases?

Kalijn Bol, MD, Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, Netherlands, discusses whether induction BRAF/MEK inhibition has a place in the treatment regime for melanoma patients. Dr Bol highlights patients with brain metastases on dexamethasone who may require BRAF/MEK inhibition to reduce the tumor load prior to starting immunotherapy, and patients with rapid disease who also cannot start immunotherapy immediately. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
