Neil Gross, MD, FACS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the potential for neoadjuvant immunotherapy to disrupt the current standard of care for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), which typically involves upfront surgery and radiation. Dr Gross highlights the need for randomized data to support this change and envisions a future where patients with advanced stage disease may be able to avoid surgery, adjuvant radiation, and adjuvant immunotherapy with just two doses of neoadjuvant immunotherapy, if they respond well. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
