ASCO 2021 | Immune checkpoint inhibitors in urothelial bladder cancer
Srikala S. Sridhar, MD, MSc, FRCPC, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Canada, explores the increased use of immune checkpoint inhibitors across various settings in urothelial bladder cancer. Pembrolizumab has been approved in the post-chemotherapy setting as a result of the KEYNOTE-025 trial (NCT02007070), further research has been conducted within the adjuvant setting in the IMvigor010 (NCT02450331), IMvigor211 (NCT02302807), CheckMate 274 (NCT02632409), and AMBASSADOR (NCT03244384) trials. The KEYNOTE-057 (NCT02625961) additionally investigates pembrolizumab patients with bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG)-refractory non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
